Why We Focus on Remodeling Projects
One of the main reasons Kodiak Construction focuses on residential remodeling rather than commercial projects is the emotional component of working with homeowners. While the emotional aspect can complicate the decision process it also leads to the highest level of satisfaction at the end. The ability to translate an image in a homeowner’s mind of what their house could be into reality is our measure of success. "This is even better than I imagined" makes the process worth the effort.
Lifestyle Goals Determine Design
In the immediate East Bay, most houses are between 30 to 100+ years old. Some of these homes have been modified, added onto, or patched together without a cohesive plan resulting in poorly functioning floor plans. Lifestyles and the way we live within our houses have changed, resulting in more open floor plans, and kitchens that are often the living hub of the house. Kodiak Construction works with architects, engineers, and homeowners to solve these challenges, either through kitchen-only remodels, reconfiguration of the existing floor plan, or the creation of more square footage by adding up, out, or down, depending on the home and homeowner’s needs. This is a very creative and solution-centric process and it is where Kodiak Construction excels.
Highest Quality Communication
Clear and frequent communication is the cornerstone of every project; without it, success is very difficult to attain. Homeowners, not familiar with project timelines, what constitutes a change order, who is responsible for making finished material selections, and ordering them are only a few of the potentially anxiety-causing aspects that can be preempted simply by providing this information. Ongoing updates, deadlines and reminders also help homeowners understand the overall process and how we are all a team working together towards a common goal.
Kodiak Construction’s goal has always been to "do what’s right for the project" and not "what’s best to get the job."
